TheĀ Celtic SeaĀ is the area of theĀ Atlantic OceanĀ off the south coast ofĀ IrelandĀ bounded to the east byĀ Saint George’s Channel;Ā other limits include theĀ Bristol Channel, theĀ English Channel, and theĀ Bay of Biscay, as well as adjacent portions ofĀ Wales,Ā Cornwall, andĀ Brittany.

The southern and western boundaries are delimited by theĀ continental shelf, which drops away sharply.

TheĀ Isles of ScillyĀ are anĀ archipelagoĀ of small islands in the sea.
