Khoy County

Khoy County is located in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province. The county’s capital is Khoy. Khoy city was fortified at several points during its history, most recently by the Qajar dynasty in the nineteenth century. Khoy was seized by Ottoman soldiers in 1911, and then by Russian troops during World War I, who retreated in 1917.
